The Big Reveal
Dog Blog Post #324: As of yesterday, all pictures on this blog (excluding flip camera captures) except three (that I can think of) have been taken by the camera on the left, below...
One of those three pictures was taken by its older brother camera on the right (the Tule Elk picture in the "Oh, Deer" post - also having the distinction of being the only picture on this blog not shot be me.) The remaining two pictures were the shots of Henry, yesterday, taken with my brand new toy...
A Mothers Day (anniversary, birthday... ) gift from my truly wonderful hubby!
Yes, this is my first SLR (digital or otherwise). No, I don't know how to use it, but I've spent pretty much every waking hour of the past day or so reading the instruction manual and shooting anything that strays into my sights.
(Photography tip: For the picture above, I had my usual camera on the mini-tripod and a 10 second timer delay. I then stood about six feet back with a mini-maglite, shining light down the length of the camera, as the flash was way too bright, and without anything you couldn't really see the writing.)
To say I've been enjoying myself would be a huge understatement.
I tried Baby out on today's Daily Shoot assignment:
Make a photograph that features vertical lines today.
And managed to take a reasonably crisp, clear, but rather uninspired picture of Zachary through the kitchen chair...
Not the camera's fault, I was simply too engrossed in learning how to use it to put much thought into what I was taking pictures of!
Editor's Note: Well, greygirl25, you are certainly free to try hair tonic on your greyhounds' tails, and I eagerly await the photo-essay results, but I wouldn't hold your breath if I was you.
Did I mention how truly wonderful my hubby is???
Love you sweetie! :)

Yay, what a great gift! Have fun with your new toy! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou'll be taking pictures like a pro in no time! My Father in Law has one of those, and I was one of the privileged few to be able to use it once. It is one sweet piece of hardware! I'll be very surprised if you don't just absolutely love it. Your hubby made a very good choice! Congratulations, I'm so happy for you!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new flashy toy! It's very nice! And the pictures are even NICER now!!!
ReplyDeleteMommy has one like that. It is a Sony. But she put it away in favor of a point-n-shoot because I move tooo fast! Maybe she will get it out again in the future when I slow down a bit.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Mommy thinks your new shots are PAWSOME!

Dear hubby,
ReplyDeleteYou totally rock! Please prepare yourself for bachelorhood, a photographer's widow, long days of "wait, I don't have my shot yet", the housecleaning can wait until tomorrow, and the forever faithful, "what is wrong with this flippin' weather?"
Congrats on the new baby, it's a beauty.
OH LA LA! Very fancy :) I'm SO jealous!
