It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere

Dog Blog Post #566: OK, I'll admit it - this was a fun shoot. The boys were quite excited to see their bowls get into the action, and to say I had their undivided attention is the understatement of the day.

Before I get to far ahead of myself, the assignment:

Daily Dog Challenge "74. Time - Dogs have a different concept of time from us humans. Show us your dog's concept of time in a photo today!"

PLUS

112 Pictures in 2012 - "#100. Time"
Our Daily Challenge - Jan 13, 2012 - "Four"

Anytime is dinner time!

And finally... a bit of stretch here...

Scavenge Challenge January 2012 - "20. Find something odd, quirky or weird. Keep it cute and amusing, please."

How odd - they usually don't show up for dinner until 5.

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere

NOW - where was I? Oh yes, undivided attention.

You see, if it's going to be an indoor shoot, then it's usually taken after dinner (theirs and mine) and after dark (so I don't have blue window light on one side and yellow ceiling light on the other).

But today, since I was going to use their bowls (yes, their REAL bowls) I decided to do the shoot before I fed them, and since the peeps had gone out for dinner, their dinner was running a wee bit late.

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere

Editor's Digression: Be sure to check the time on your camera every so often. I just discovered mine was an hour later that it should have been.

Where was I? Oh yes, undivided attention.

So I grabbed the clock from the mantel, set it for 4, pulled the battery out, and then trotted out the remaining props.

The boys were transfixed. Their bowls were Right There.

Empty.

(bummer)

But Right THERE!

I didn't even have to drop cookies in there to get expression!

The backboard was draped in the stretchy black velvet, the old end table was covered in one of the fabrics I usually use for a backdrop. The Black Foamie thing was on the Speedlight. The Speedlight was on the camera. The camera was on the tripod.

As for me, I'm standing to the left with my remote control and a ramekin of treats.

Everything went off like, well, clockwork.

The bowls were then filled with food.

Yup... a good time was had by all. :)

Oh, those shots turned out spectacularly! Your take on the assignment went much better than mine!

And I'm dying to see what your theme for today is! I'm betting it involved hats...
