Pet Trends
Dog Blog Post #567: You learn something every day. Today, we were tasked by the Daily Dog Challenge to:
75. 1/14 -- "Create A Theme - Create a theme in a photograph today, whether it's by color, props or some thing else your dog likes.
MEANWHILE, in other corners of flickr-land, we had:
Our Daily Challenge - Jan 14, 2011 - "Trend"
Scavenge Challenge January 2011 - "1. Arrange ingredients and measures for an image suitable for a cookbook."
112 Pictures in 2012 - "110. Unfinished"
PUT 'em together, and what have you got?
Good question.
So I consulted google, and discovered that a Pet Trend for 2012 is "Home-cooked diets".
No, really. Check it out yourself over at the Professional Crafters web site. What do they know about Pet Trends? Haven't a clue, but the fifth item on their VERY long list (the afore mentioned "Home-cooked diets") fit right into my list of challenges!
Next step - figure out what to cook. Now, it just so happened that I had purchased several boxes of outrageously expensive dog cookies as Christmas gifts for the boys.
Bingo!
So I brazenly laid those cookies out on the tiny rack that fits in the tiny tray that fits in the toaster oven, then rummaged through the cabinets looking to reverse engineer the ingredients so they somewhat matched what was on listed on the box.
Ta-da!
These were taken in the kitchen, with the backboard up, camera on tripod set fairly high to reveal the ingredients, Speedlight on camera facing the ceiling, Black Foamie Thing on camera to keep the flash from facing the boys.
As for me, I'm lying on the floor just out of sight in front of the tray with the remote control in my hand.

Hi Y'all,
Looks like cruel and unusual punishment to me!;) When to they get to eat?
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I love seeing and hearing the background for your photos. You really do put a lot of thought into it.
This is adorable. I hope the boys got a cookie after the shoot.
I can only imagine the drooling that would be going on....
I always love seeing what you'll come up with when you mix challenges together! This is fantastic! The boys' expressions make it even better!
I'm trying to figure out a good way to work a feather into a challenge. Sheesh!
I love it. Where are the aprons and chef hats?
If I tried this with my guys, you would only see blurs of fur, they can be a bit like piranhas around food.
