Dog Blog Post #610: Yet another artsy challenge - this time from Daily Dog Challenge...
118. "Wall Art" - Take a photo that you could hang on the wall as art today. Play with it however you like!
Which, when combined with...
Our Daily Challenge - Feb. 26, 2012 - "Red"
... produced the picture (above) that I would never have dreamed up on my own.
Good?
Bad?
Would I actually hang it on my wall?
Who knows - but it's different!
Today also saw me going back redoing my "Mud" picture. Remember this one...
... well the group admin decided that peanut butter isn't "mud" and sent me out to find some dirt and water. During one of the driest winters on record. (sigh)
Fine. Here it is. Hose Water + Dusty Dry Dirt = Mud.
Let's hope that one flies.
Speaking of flying - I also decided to retake my Leap Year shot. The first time around I got this...
Well, actually, I got THIS...
... and cropped.
But I got a grumble from a fellow scavenger that it wasn't a REAL leap - all feet off the ground. Grrrr. Do they have any idea how tricky that shot was to time out? Not to mention to call Henry and NOT have Zachary budge. FWIW, camera remote is in left hand, cookies are in right, and Zachary is fixating on (what else) the Lacrosse Ball. (Love his expression!)
Besides, the challenge didn't say "airborne", is said "feet off the ground", and Henry did indeed have feet (plural) off the ground. But wanting to put February to bed once and for all, I decided to try again.
So I gave instructions...
The boys seemed up to the task, so we went for it!
Seriously, Henry? |
Plan B
Into to the house we go, and son volunteered to man the remote so I could concentrate on the jumper.
We had quite a few misfires...
... a bit of attitude...
(Mischief, thy name is Henry) |
... some close shots...
... until I finally gave up on Henry and brought out the power hitter.
Go Zachary!
He jumped the first time, every time - and it took quite a few takes until we FINALLY caught him mid-flight.
What a good boy!

nice to finally capture that leap !
Those are great shots. We get leaps while out training. Sometimes on land, but mostly jumping into water. They are hard to get because the dogs are so fast. You did a great job.
Those are some of my favorite photos yet! I think I will try to catch my boys mid flight!
Sam
What a grump. While I'm glad you caught the shot to meet the challenge I thought the others were cuter.
great leap!!..nice to capture it!!
That is a whole lot of work to get a leap! Wow! I admire your dedication, and am now officially worried about getting that shot. I wanted to do a leap shot for Wednesday's assignment, but I'm a little scared now!
Hi Y'all,
Wow! My Human knows how tricky it is to ever capture "the" moment.
Just hopped by from Monday Mischief to catch up on your happenings and say hello! Have a great week!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Hey, Henry and Zachary, Jet here. Mom said I should ask you to tell your human the pics are wonderful and that they should be congratulated for this word called perseverance! BTW, she also said Henry's tail is gorgeous.
Do I need to send you guy some mud? Not that I don't have some to spare....
Love your agility moves. Anything for a "jump"!!
Oh my human is so jealous you guys have NO mud! I get covered in the stuff from head to tail on every walk! *waggy tail*
The jumping shots are fab - we're a bit jealous of your remote control for the camera and I've seen my human browsing for one on the web!
Nice air shots. But I do have to disappoint you, you have no idea what mud really is.
Perhaps I should have the red head demonstrate. :o)))
