Dog Blog Post #678: YARP (Yet Another Retrieving Picture)
Not my fault! I'm (usually) not the one that comes up with these challenges!
Daily Dog Challenge185. How's the Weather"
Overcast, cool, and generally great for retrieving.
Scavenge Challenge May 2012 - "19. Win the race, the prize, or win someone's admiration or heart. Show what it means to win."
Win the race to the ball, and you get to bring it back! Clearly, Zachary finds that extremely satisfying.
Our Daily Challenge - April 3, 2012 - "Work"
This is what retrievers were bred to do.
As Zachary's motto is "You throw it, and I bring it back", I seriously doubt Zachary would call this work.
After a few tosses, Henry might beg to differ.
A Happy Retriever |
My favorite shot is the one below, although it's the worst fit for all the challenges.
The boys are under Squirrely's tree, and Zachary's about to pluck the ball out of the air mid-bounce. I think even Henry was impressed. :)
Don't feel too sorry for Henry with all these "Zachary won" shots.
After Zachary brings a few back, I toss the ball in the opposite direction. Zachary is always trying to get a head start, so he's well on the path going the wrong way when I throw it. Henry's figured this out, and tends to hang back, waiting.
Unfortunately, due to the configuration of the yard, these backward shots involve tossing it down the side yards, and shrubbery makes it hard to get a shot of Henry bringing it back.

I really like these shots! The boys look so happy and relaxed.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the heart assignment has something to do with the 365 group. I don't know if you saw the post, but they were asking for heart shots and there's an explanation about why. I thought it would be an easy Friday shot for both of us! ;)
