I know Henry, but you're safe in the house and the storm will be over soon.

Daily Dog Challenge "405. Inspiration"

… for the boys' daily journal entry:

"It was a dark and stormy night"

(see Wikipedia for info about this "infamous" line.)

Editor's Note

I loved this concept, and with a fair bit of slider pushing to add warmth, darken the edges, lighten the middles, and a dab of selective lightening try to bring the body of the LED candle to life, they came out much better than the drab, bland RAW images suggested at first glance.

Still, they didn't come close to my mental image of the scene, mostly due to a lack of mood/atmospheric lighting (hence the slider pushing) and a few good props.

That TV tray and modern pen just aren't working for me here.

But as I think it has potential, and I have fond memories of seeing Snoopy sitting on his doghouse typing that very line, don't be surprised if I revisit this again.

Oh, and "No", while it was definitely dark outside... being night... there wasn't a storm in sight. In fact, while we do get rain here, lightening is extremely rare. Some years we don't get any at all.

And that's just fine with us. :)
