And, of course, you can't have bitey-face pictures without at least one Fearsome Face shot.
What goof balls!

... while playing their favorite game of bitey-face.
In the top shot, Zachary is showing off his acting skills - a hold over from the self-handicapping he employed when Henry was just a pup.
Self-handicapping is when the stronger of the two intentionally plays at half (quarter, 1/8th) speed/strength in order to make the game fair and/or intentionally allow their "lesser" opponent to win.
In this case, Zachary is taking a dive even though Henry has yet to touch him, in a move that would make an NFL kicker proud.
Although Henry is obviously no longer a pup, and is quite possibly stronger than his Uncle due to his greater size, their relationship is still played out as that of an older/mentor to younger/student.
Zachary always instigates play by rolling on his back and exposing his belly (shot #2) while Henry will usually grab at Zachary's ears/throat in a puppy-like gesture (shot #3).
This cracks me up, as just a few years ago Zachary was employing the very same grabbing technique to get Beau (HIS Uncle) to play with him while Beau was the one rolling on his back and taking dives.
Ah, the circle of life.
*** Yes, they really are blood relatives.
Mischief Monday
Remember when I was trying to get a nice formal Christmas Portrait a few days back?
It was challenging enough with the just the boys (what is it about kids and getting their pictures taken for Christmas) but then Kitty showed up...
(sigh)

In my opinion, you just can't trust cats -ever! *waggy tail* I love the bitey face photos - pawsome!
Ooh scary! Sam and Monty don't play like that. Monty occasionally will chew on Sam's leg, but that never goes far.
Sam
Ha ha ha! Oh, anytime Kitty sneaks in, things get cute and interesting!
our boys play like that too..except one is a 'kitty'! and he is usually the one who starts the 'bitey face'
Wow, I've never heard of self-handicapping. That's really interesting. Great pics! And cats are so mischievous. lol
Glad to see my dog's not the only one who makes ferocious bitey faces when she plays!
Stopping by from the Monday Mischief bloghop! Happy MM!
