Besides, watching their "Golden Slumbers"*** makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
*** 113 Pictures in 2013 - "9. Represent a Beatles song in your image"
I can't say I'm much of a Beatles fanatic, and while I've certainly heard many of their songs over the years, there are few the jump out in mind (and even more tellingly, none have yet made their way onto my iPod.)
So I printed out a list (a very LONG list) of their songs and picked Golden Slumbers for obvious reasons, but I didn't realize that I was quite familiar with the tune, just didn't know the title, until I popped over to iTunes to have a listen.
According to Wikipedia, the song is, "is based on the poem 'Cradle Song', a lullaby by the dramatist Thomas Dekker. The poem appears in Dekker's 1603 comedy Patient Grissel."
Golden Slumbers by the Beatles
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
More Sleepy Dogs
Because one can never get enough pictures of sleepy/sleeping dogs - even posing ones...

I don't know how you picked a favorite for the assignments. They're all so darned adorable!

ReplyDelete*SQUEEEEE* The second set of photos is ADORABLE! I'm not a big Beatles' fan either. My daughter, a musician, loves them, so I've been discovering songs I didn't know existed. Still not a fan. I'll have to hunt this one down.
