Automatic Dog Feeding Machine

Henry, why don't you tell us what you and Zachary have been working on.

Automatic Dog Feeding Machine
Henry: "Uh, yes. This our Rube Goldberg Machine to automate filling a bowl with Kibbles."

Automatic Dog Feeding Machine
Henry: "The Kibbles start way up there... somehow... we haven't quite figured that part out yet... but it's gonna use a SpongeBob Golf Ball. And Dominos. Lots of Dominos."

Automatic Dog Feeding Machine
Henry: "Anyway, the Kibbles slide down the chute - Weeeeeee..."

Automatic Dog Feeding Machine
Henry: "... until they land in the bowl and we eat them. Then we start all over with fresh Kibbles."

No, Henry. You can't eat the Kibble each time you test the machine!

Zachary, do you have anything to add?

Automatic Dog Feeding Machine
Zachary: "We're still working on applying the gravitational constant to the equation of the slope, keeping in mind acceleration loss due to friction and..."

Automatic Dog Feeding Machine
Zachary: "... mass reduction resultant from subsequent Kibbles consumption."

Ummm... right. Thank you Zachary.

Dog Blog Post #1023

In the spirit of Rube Goldberg, the boys spent the afternoon developing an automatic dog feeding machine by combining Common objects in a rather Uncommon way.

This created a Larger than Life dog feeder with the help of a Larger than Life chick.

Editor's Note

Yes, they really do make Spongebob Golf Balls.

Who knew?

The bits were scavenged from my son's now dismantled but once functional Rube Goldberg machine for popping a ballon, created for his Physics class last year.

Here's a post I made about it, with the boys for scale: Rube Goldberg Machine

Here's Wikipedia's description of a Rube Goldberg machine, if you've never heard of one:
