The Day the Music Died

Henry: "What are we doing today, Momma?"

Today is "The Day The Music Died" day, in honor of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper, who died in a plane crash on Feb 3, 1959.

Zachary: "I'm feeling a bit washed out."
Henry: "Definitely faded."

I particularly liked the last one, above, and tried to match the background/colors/tones as best I could with what I had on hand.

Zachary: "Whew. I thought you forgot to pay the Color  Bill."
Henry: "I don't want to be all wishy washy forever."

Umm… I don't think there is a such a thing a Color Bill, Zachary, and it's only a picture Henry.

You haven't changed at all.

Zachary: "Just wait. It'll come. And if you don't pay it..."
Henry: "Oh dear."

Against a Swirling backdrop, the boys do their best Ritchie Valens (Zachary on the left) and Buddy Holly (Henry) making Beautiful Music together.

The main background fabric is actually quite vibrant (I used it once for a Flower Power album cover challenge) but subdued it by overlaying with a lightweight black mesh with shiny colored dots (and lowering the image saturation).

While the mesh obscured the swirl more than I would have liked for the challenge, I'm actually rather pleased with how it came out in the end.
