In this case, Hubby outside knocking on the front door, and then making faces, just for these shots.

Henry (solo or nearer) is less likely to give an alarm, but much more believable when he does.

Hence one of Zachary's nicknames: The Alarmist.

Daily Dog Challenge 927. "In and/or Out"

Henry: "Better safe than sorry.  Boof boof arrroooo rooo rooo!!!"

Henry doesn't really "bark" very often - he does sort of a bark/huff combo we call "boofing" followed by his more serious bark/howl combo.

Zachary is Gatling Gun - rapid fire barks that definitely get attention but somehow lack gravitas.

Of the two, Henry, if motivated (big "if" there) has the more impressive sound.

Neither comes close to Beau, who had a resonant Heavy Howitzer bark that caused door-to-door sellers to think twice - at least when the blinds were drawn. The effect was diminished some by his goofy grin and wagging tail.
