A nice nap at home after a long day at the Day Spa.

Daily Dog Challenge1187. "Inspire Your Heart With Art"

The Boys were too tired to be very inspired.

I played with Photoshop Touch on the iPad to get Artsy, but wasn't as impressed this time.

Disliked how it shrank my shots down and the "halo" this effect ("Acrylic") added in places.

Should have just played with sliders.

Hmmm…

Time Passes…

Ok, I'm back.

Yes, I really did stop typing to go push some sliders on the original shot.

Here's what I came up with…

Played a bit with my lighting today.

Probably should have cleaned the floor first.

That's Henry In the Distance with the Cookies in the foreground.

(Proof I lived up to my promise to Zachary and bought more Cookies.)

In addition to my primary flash sitting lower than usual, there is a second flash at -1EV with a softbox trained on the Cookies.

While I generally liked how the lighting came out, the low angle of the lights made my floors look… well… filthy.

Some heavy handing processing cleaning up the worst of the floor, but made things rather contrasty and dark.

(sigh)

Better luck next time.

That last shot was at 1/5s f/32 - just for kicks (slow exposure, very small aperture.).

I wanted the small aperture to bring both the ball and Zachary into focus despite their distance apart. I needed the slow exposure to compensate for very little light getting through that very small aperture.

I played with a variety of aperture/exposure values but never did get it quite right.

And yes, both the Cookies and brand new Lacrosse Ball was enjoyed when the shoot was over.

Zachary is nearly done with his Peacock-colored scarf and Henry is holding the next skein of yarn in paw, showing off an orderly Zig Zag pattern on it.

The boucle yarn (Zachary) has been… interesting… to work with.

Henry's approach was what I was trying to get a picture of today, but I gave Zachary points for enthusiasm.

In the end, to save the canister from bodily harm, and I opted to play Shake instead (below).

Editor's Note: Yes, I used a heavier hand post-processing Henry's second shot as it was favorite one and, of course, it's the one the camera tried "Alternate-Focusing" on. On the bright side, I do rather like how it came out.

Bacon is as close to a Spiritual experience as the boys get.

The observant amongst you may note that the piece of bacon I'm holding for Henry and the piece I'm holding for Zachary are, in fact, the very same piece of bacon.

Of the four pieces I received as a side-order from IHOP, that piece was the most "photogenic" of the bunch.

As Henry went first, his reward piece (shown being consumed) was an equal sized but less attractive piece.

Zachary ate the Beauty Queen in his last shot, above.

I then gave each dog one of the two remaining pieces.

As for me?

Not a bite.
