Henry and the Therm-A-Rest |
... the creation of which is described below, followed by a few intermediate images, and then some Solo Shots of the Therm-A-Rest (just because.)
Dog Blog Post #1875
Henry, trying out Hubby's Backpacking Therm-A-Rest Z-Lite sleeping pad.
I don't think this is what Hubby usually takes, which is probably why he didn't fuss when I asked to borrow it for tonight's shoot.
Folded up like this, it turned out to be a very Precarious Perch for the Puppy - not at all stable under Paw.
I took just two shots, reseting the pad each time and holding it down until the last possible moment for each shot.

Daily Dog Challenge 1384. "Where I Stand"
Our Daily Challenge - Aug 15, 2015 - "Ruffles or Ridges"
I first applied the Neon Glow filter in Photoshop Elements to create the bottom layer. I then used the Linear Light blending mode on a copy of the original image as the upper layer.
Back in Lightroom I pushed a few sliders bring out the fur and reflection a bit more.
Fun!
Just Neon Glow
Neon Glow |
This used two separate applications of Neon Glow on otherwise identical layers of the same original image.
For the bottom layer, I focused on bringing out the ridges in the pad. For the top layer, i tried to bring out the fur. I then used the Lighten blending mode to mix the layers together.

Therm-A-Rest Chin Rest?
Zachary - Looking left out |
While Zachary does know the Paws Up cue, his quick movements and dislike of unstable footing would have made this a tough shot.
As I liked what I got from Henry, I let Zachary off the hook tonight.
