The top shot and the one below were taken with my workhorse 60mm Macro lens - a close-up shot of necessity as I couldn't get back any further.

The second shot is a happy-snappy with the iPhone, whose tiny lens gives a "bigger" picture (in this instance).

Daily Dog Challenge 1650. "Love"

I've heard that there are two kinds of Golden Retrievers: the "Love me, love me, love me" kind and the "Love you, love you, love you" kind.  I've also heard as a practical matter, it doesn't matter which one you get, as both are extremely affectionate.

Beau was most definitely a "Love you, love you, love you" dog. Everyone or thing he met was his Long Lost Best Friend. You know the kind, where if he were human he would have wrapped you up in a big bear hug and spun you around with joy. We used to joke he had Obsessive Compulsive Friendliness Disorder.

Zachary is also a "Love you, love you, love you" dog. Although he's somewhat indifferent greeting people when we are out, he really turns it on when in the house and with us. Being gone for even a few hours, or someone new coming through the door, is cause for great celebration and rejoicing. Lots of happy dancing and spinning while trying to shove his head into our hands.

Which brings us to Henry.

Henry loves to meet people and is far more demonstrative when out and about than Zachary, although (unlike Beau) Henry is polite. He extends a friendly nose for petting and says goodbye with a happy flourish of his plume of a tail.

Outside.

Inside he's a 90 lb lap dog, convinced he's still a 10 lb pup. You can't ignore Henry, whether he's sprawled across your lap or doing his best Sit-n-Stare in front of you. Henry must be petted, and hugged, and cuddled... and he will sit/lie there and soak it up for as long as you are willing to dole it out.

Henry, is a "Love me, love me, love me" dog. :)
