Dog Blog Post #2197
This is, once again, an iPhone shot.
I *did* take some shots with the Nikon, but for whatever reason, the iPhone shots just seem to respond better to a heavier processing hand.
Or perhaps I just feel more liberated knowing I'm not "ruining" a nice shot. :)
This had rough processing and initial blotting out of the (unattractive) background done in Lightroom. It was then passed over to Photoshop Elements to complete the masking. I duplicated the layer and merged it, at ~50% opaque, back with itself using Soft Light.
Back to Lightroom it went, where I dropped the saturation just bit. No need to go all the way to B&W, as the boys are already monochrome.
Brings to mind that old saying - you can have it cheap, you can have it fast, or you can have it good. Pick two.
Tonight I was hoping for "good" and the camera was certainly a lot cheaper than my Nikon, but all the processing meant "fast" went out the window.
Had I set up the lights, backdrop, and used the Nikon, I would have been done with the post-processing in just a few minutes.
